CINDERELLA'S CLOSET
OF MONMOUTH COUNTY
OUR HISTORY
Founded by two Monmouth County residents, Stephanie Tomasetta and Katie Adams, this all-volunteer, tax-exempt 501 (c) (3) organization has grown tremendously since its inception in 2008. With volunteers from more than twelve high schools across several counties, Cinderella’s Closet has helped hundreds of students in need and now possesses an inventory of over 1,500 dresses.
Manalapan, Marlboro, Matawan Regional, Colts Neck, Holmdel, Middletown North, Middletown South, CBA, RBC, Ocean, Monmouth Regional, Ranney, Jackson, St. John Vianney, Monroe, Howell, and RBR high school students have been an integral part of the organization’s success with current students eager to carry on its mission for years to come.
The organization has also worked with, Home Away From Home Academy, a pre-k and elementary school, which participated by holding several dress drives for us. Over the years we have also been instrumental in helping ensure special needs groups such as the On Your Mark organization enjoy their own Spring Formal Gala.
Cinderella’s Closet of Monmouth county had its first annual Prom Fashion Show fundraiser in January of 2008. This event has grown from 20 prom ensembles to 40 prom ensembles, a Project Runway competition, dance performances, raffles, and much more. This event is how the organization is able to fund the main charitable event, the Boutique.
The boutique, which is traditionally held at in March, is when students in need are able to come “shop” for their prom attire. While in its inaugural year, the organization helped 100 girls at a one day event. Currently, the organization has grown to help close to 350 students a year by setting up two Boutique days in order to accommodate more students.
This past year, Cinderella's Closet introduced it's First Annual Wine Tasting Event which helps us to raise money for our newly created scholarship fund. Each year, the board of Cinderella's Closet will choose a volunteer who has gone above and beyond to recieve the scholarship to be used to further their education.
